Attire: Full CLASS A uniform, with shirt tucked in, for Scouts and uniformed leaders

CONGRATULATIONS, Pack 1776 scouts and families!

Let's celebrate good times with good company and a multicultural potluck! We'll celebrate our cubs, parents, and our amazing volunteers for a wonderful year of learning new things and inspiring all of us to incorporate the scout law into our daily lives. On Advancement Day, we will cheer all scouts and those who have earned their den rank through completed den adventures. We will also recognize the amazing volunteers and our Den Chiefs whom we couldn’t do without. Join us for this celebration!

Feb 8: February Pack Meeting – NOVA Wild with the Oakland Zoo

Date/Time: February 8, 4:00pm to 6:00pm (please note the date & early time)

Location: Tassajara Hills Elementary School MPR

Attire: Class A uniform

Volunteers (we need you!): Please email [email protected] if you can help us setup the MPR at 3:30pm and/or cleanup at 6:00pm 

Join us for a special visit from the Oakland Zoo!  Learn about wildlife, hear interesting facts about our ecosystem, and get up close and personal with a couple of cute critters.  We’ll also have a den project during the meeting to put our learnings into a colorful form.  Our hats off to Mr. Kevin for organizing this meeting!

Feb 24: Blue & Gold Banquet + AOL Graduation & Bridging

Blue and Gold Banquet

Come celebrate the 113th birthday of scouting in the USA at the pack's annual Blue & Gold banquet where we will have a ceremony for AOLs who will receive their Arrow of Light awards and bridge over to Scouts BSA for their onward scouting journey. The pack will host a catered dinner and fun entertainment -- Germar the Magician -- for Pack 1776 scouts and immediate family.

[ RSVP ] by February 1 with the number of people attending and indicate number of vegetarian and non-veg meals for your party in the poll.

When: Friday, February 24, 2023, at 6-9pm
Where: Tassajara Hills Elementary School MPR

SCVGMS 61st Annual Gem and Mineral Festival

Date: April 16 & 17, 2016
Time: 10am - 5pm
Location: Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose
Show admission: Free for children under 12 and scouts in uniform. Adult $5 advance purchase or $6 at the door.
Kids area admission: $5 per Wolf; $6 per Webelos; Non-scouting sibling and other Cub Scouts $3.50; free for adults, unless they'd like a patch and rock bag.
Awards: Wolves can earn their Collections and Hobbies Adventure; Webelos can earn their Earth Rocks! Adventure.

Cub scouts are invited to Visit the Santa Clara Valley Gem and Mineral Society Festival and Kids Area at the Fairgrounds on April 16 and 17. Learn about geology, get a beginning rock collection, a rock bag, a patch, and more ! Choose a day and time slot to visit and send in your registration form and check by March 31st.

This is not a Pack 1776 event but a community event open to Scout groups.

Write a one-page report titled “The Best Book I Read This Year” and enter it in the Boys’ Life 2015 “Say Yes to Reading!” contest.

The book can be fiction or nonfiction. But the report has to be in your own words — 500 words tops. Enter in one of these three age categories:

8 years old and younger
9 and 10 years old
11 years old and older

First-place winners in each age category will receive a $100 gift card from Amazon.com. Second-place winners will receive a $75 gift card; third-place winners, a $50 gift card.

What to Bring: swimsuit, towels. and class B T-shirt

Calling all Webelos I or II, any boys 11 or older, and their parents ! You are invited to have FUN in the water and complete your Aquanaut Pin with Troop 1776 !

Work on Aquanaut requirements with the Scoutmasters and older Boy Scouts of Troop 1776, get a free swim lesson, play Minnows & Sharks or earn bragging rights by riding the GIANT SLIDE or jumping off the HIGH DIVE!

Bring your Webelos out for an adventure. Naturalist John Mottashed will lead your Scouts on a nature hike to complete seven of the 12 Webelos Naturalist Badge requirements: visit a nature center; watch for birds; learn about bird flyways; identify poisonous plants and reptiles; watch at least six wild animals; identify birds and plants that live in our area; learn about the importance of aquatic ecosystems and wetlands. Call 925-688-8010 to register your Scouts.

Webelos Naturalist Program in Brentwood

Date/Time: Saturday, November 22 10:00 a.m. – noon

Pre-registration is required and limited to 20 participants. Back by popular demand! Bring your Webelos out for an adventure. National Summertime Award

Scouts who participate in 3 summer Pack activities will receive the National Summertime Award.  The following activities are eligible:

Dens with an average attendance of at least half their members participating three summer pack events will also be eligible for a colorful den participation ribbon.

Please let me know if your scout qualify for the summertime award by Sept 8th.
