Pinewood Derby Race

Date/time: Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 1pm to 4pm

Location: Coyote Creek MPR

Attire: Class A

Bring: Reusable water bottle and Readiness to cheer on your fellow scouts

Race day pizza for volunteers

Each participant will receive a medal and a patch at registration on Impound Day

Medals will be varied, to use up the pack’s inventory from prior years

Car design contest — winners get a ribbon, a car can win in only one category:

• Best Paint Job
• Most Unique
• Most Patriotic
• Most Artistic *NEW*
• Cutest *NEW* 
• Best Scout Spirit *NEW* 

Heats + # groups:

1. 1. 1. Lion Heats (x4 for 1 Lion group)
      2. Tiger Heats (x4 for 1 Tiger group)
      3. Wolf Heats (x4 for 1 Wolf group)
      4. Bear Heats (x4 for 1 Bear group)
      5. Webelos I Heats (x4 for 1 Webelos I group)
      6. AOL / Webelos II Heats (x4 for each of 3 AOL / Webelos II patrols)
      7. Siblings Heats (x4 for 1 sibling group)
      8. Scouts BSA Heats (x4 for 1 Scouts BSA scout group)
      9. Parent Heats *NEW*
      10. Best Overall Heats (x4 for each First 3 Den/Patrol Group Winners — Pack 1776 registered scouts only, no siblings, parents, or Scouts BSA)

Kits were distributed to Den Leaders at December pack meeting on 12/20.

Scouts, including Den Chiefs, received their Pinewood Derby kit to prepare for the Pinewood Derby race in January!

Siblings and parents may purchase a PWD kit for $7 (cash or check only) to participate in the Siblings or parents race

Reiterated PWD rules in email to pack and during Dec pack meeting, including:

1. 1. Dimension restrictions
   2. No reusing car from prior years
   3. No using car body or wheels acquired online or that didn’t come in the provided kit
