February Pack Meeting: A Scout is Always Prepared!

DATE: February 9, 2022
TIME: 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Coyote Creek Elementary MPR
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ASAP: Signup link
UNIFORM: Class A

Making correct decisions under pressure can be difficult for anyone, but if Cub Scouts practice knowing when and how to call 911, basic first aid and other skills, they can be ready for emergency situations. February's Pack Meeting will teach Scouts the basics in wound care, when to call 911, and how to prepare for a disaster. Our younger scouts will also make art posters to give our first responders some new year cheer - a scout is cheerful! All attending scouts will receive an awesome emergency preparedness patch.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS: There are 6 stations that we need to staff. Volunteers will be provided with a written script to teach the following stations. Please sign up this week, so we can provide you with the script for preparation.

Station #1 - Calling 911 (Lion/Tiger/Wolves)
Station #2 - Calling 911 (Bears/Webelos/AOLs)
Station #3 - Learning how to prepare an Emergency Home Kit (Bears/Webelos/AOLs)
Station #4 - Helping Hands Art Activity (Lion/Tiger/Wolves)
Station #5 - Disaster Preparedness (Lion/Tiger/Wolves)
Station #6 - Disaster Preparedness (Bears/Webelos/AOLs)

Additionally, we ask parents to cooperate on the following for the meeting:

  • Leave siblings at home, unless necessary (of course, do not leave young kids alone at home)
  • Only one parent accompanies Lion, Tiger, Wolf Scouts, unless both parents are on leadership or volunteer duty at the pack meeting
  • Drop off Bear, Webelos, AOL Scouts by 6:25pm and come back at 7:45pm to pick them up promptly when the pack meeting ends at 8pm
