Cub Scouts will enjoy an afternoon of fun on Saturday, October 8, with hands-on activities at the Schulz Museum and ice skating at Snoopy’s Home Ice in support of Art and Ice Skating Belt Loop. Meet a professional cartoonist, create your own animation and much more. Also, get a Schulz Museum fun patch! Call the Schulz Museum to reserve your space: (707) 284-1271.

Popcorn Training

The popcorn season has arrived! Our sales goal for this year is $5000. Not only every scout participating in this annual fundraising event receives a patch, more prizes and rewards are available for top selling den and scouts. There are many ways to participate. Besides the upcoming show-and-sell at Safeway and Lucky, scouts can sell door-to-door and online. Learn more about this at our first Pack Meeting on Wednesday, September 9th.

Scout Night With The Sharks vs. Anaheim Ducks
San Jose Sharks has just announced their first Scout Night of the season to be on Friday, September 23rd. Your San Jose Sharks including Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau and Dan Boyle will take on Bobby Ryan and division rival the Anaheim Ducks! Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma – August 28
Hello Scouts of Pack 1776 and Race Fans!

Hope you are all having an outstanding summer. Our Pack 1776 never slows down on the fun events during the break, and next month's Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma race is the high speed proof of that.
Once again Webmaster Stella worked her magic and arranged for the fastest day of the summer, FREE for scouts and leaders in their class A uniforms, with discounted tickets available for only $20. That's over $35 in savings from the regular price of $55.
We requested 50 tickets to sell. I would ask that you consider attending the race, while extending the invitation and opportunity to your friends, families, neighbors, co-workers to join in on this opportunity to purchase these low,low,low cost tickets, and to support their cubs at Pack 1776.

- Scouts in Class A do not need a ticket. They are admitted free at the door.

BSA Racing
Did you watch Indy 500 the past weekend? From qualifying at the last minute a week ago, to advancing 11 spots to finishing 19th at the race, there were many intense moments for the BSA Motorsports team. However, nothing compares to the dramatic finish at the last half lap. Check out this video if you haven't yet.
If this is the kind of excitement you enjoy, here's a chance to experience it, on location, real time. Once again, BSA's #19 car will be coming to Northern California for Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma. Scouts and leaders in Class A uniform will be admitted free. Discounted tickets ($20, normally $55) are also available to friends and family. 50% of each ticket sold will be donated to Scouting. Join us for a special evening of fun and educational activities planned for Scouts of all ages and gender. Perfect for leaders and parents of younger Scouts who will soon begin camping and backpacking and for older Scouts who want to take it to the next level.
Learn what gear to choose (and avoid!) in our various gear, clothing and footwear mini-clinics. Find out about outdoor recreational and conservation project opportunities in 2011 from East Bay Regional Park District and Save Mount Diablo representatives. Activities for kids will include climbing on our indoor wall and zany contests like mini geo-caching, tent building and sleeping bag stuffing.
We'll have lots of prizes and a raffle for some great gear any Scout would love to own. Younger Scouts will enjoy meeting Chipper and learning Leave No Trace principles in a fun, interactive way. All Scouts who arrive in uniform will receive a 15% off coupon for one full-priced item, with limited exclusions.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or Scout leader and adequate adult supervision must be provided for each Scout group that attends. Pre-registration is required. Find out more online.
