Awards

Pack 1776 families,

Since the Kickoff event a month ago, we have been busy getting the awards earned by our Scouts over the summer and in the month of September. To date, we received orders of 71 belt loops, 14 sports pins, 11 summertime pack award pins, and over 10 award patches, strips, and ribbons. That is a total of 106 awards and we are sure there are more! That is nothing short of IMPRESSIVE!! Great job Scouts and parents! Find out more on what you can earn at the BSA website, keep up the good work, and keep the orders coming!

Cheers,

Archery
Jack P, Varoon K, Warren H

BB Shooting

Ice Cream Social – Wednesday 10/13/2010

Pack 1776,

Our Pack has once again been asked by the Coyote Creek PTA to serve ice cream at next week's Book Fair.

This is a really fun event. It allows the Scouts to represent the Pack to prospective Scouts and all assisting Scouts get a free scoop of ice cream! The event is Wednesday October 13th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and class A uniforms are required.

If your Scout is interested in attending, please let me know. We will take the first 8 to 10 Scouts that reply and will also need 1 to 2 more Leaders to assist.

I look forward to seeing you there!

The Bay Area Orienteering Club is pleased to offer the eighteenth annual Scout-O, a cross country map and compass adventure designed to test the map reading ability, compass skills and woodsman savvy regardless of experience.

Cub Scouts of all ages are welcome.  No prior experience needed. Instruction will be offered prior to the event so that all Scouts, regardless of prior experience, will be able to take part in the actual competition.  There will be courses of four distinct levels of difficulty, so that no Scout should encounter a challenge beyond his capabilities.  Be prepared and head over to BAOC's website for printable maps and instructions.

Important information can be found in this document.  Here are the important points:

- Scouts will run the course in teams of two, shadowed by an adult, $5 each.
- First team of all the scouts attending will run at 10 am.  Start times are spaced 2 minutes apart and by course.  Start times are set by event organizer.
- There is a slightly different additional event at 1:30 that is optional.  Scouts do not have to stay for that but they can.
- Every participating scout will earn a patch.
- We need to pre-register with names and how teams will be paired up.

An evite will be coming to you.  Sign up by October 7th and contact event coordinator Susan Kim if you have any questions.
