In 1918, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day in the eleventh month, the world rejoiced and celebrated. After four years of bitter war, “the war to end all wars” was over. World War I was over.
In remembrance of the end of World War I, November 11th is known as Veteran’s Day.
On Veteran’s Day –
We remember those who served their country with honor.
We remember the soldiers killed and missing in action throughout our nation’s history.
We remember all the soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and coast guard personnel protecting us at home and currently fighting to keep our country free.
Following the Opening Ceremony presented by the Bears and Cubmaster’s minute, Pack 1776 will visit with current and retired members of our Nation’s Armed Forces.
Scouts will learn about the history of Veteran’s Day and our Nation’s flag. A flag presentation conducted by our guests and Den Chiefs will follow along with a Question & Answer session with our guests.
If time permits, we will construct an Anzac Poppy, a symbol worn to remember those who have fallen in support of our country.
