LEAD 2011 Early Bird Registration Ending Soon!
Registration for the annual MDSC Scouting conference is open and early bird discount is ending soon. LEAD is a full-day (7am-5pm) training with fun sessions on camping, cooking, paddling, website setup, and a lot more. You can enjoy all these classes for only $35 if you register by Dec 17th midnight, and this $35 is reimbursable by the Pack upon completion of the training. Go to the Council website for detail and registration.

Reminder: Scouting for Food Collection
Date: Saturday, November 20, 2010
Time: 9:00am - 11:00am
Pickup Location: Assigned areas (map)
Collection Location: Coyote Creek MPR
Our Pack will be picking up food donations this Saturday. Please start collection in your assigned area after 9am and bring the donation to outside of MPR between 10-11am.
A couple of reminders:
- Wear Class A uniforms
- Do NOT enter a donor's residence
- Parents should keep an eye on the Scouts at all times
- It may rain. Be Prepared! And be safe!
- Den leaders and/or representatives, please provide names of scouts participated so that they can be recognized.

Mt. Diablo Silverado Council’s mid-winter escape to Scouting paradise will be held at Diablo Valley College on Saturday, January 22, 2011.
Registration is now open – Early Registration Discount through Friday December 17, 2010 at midnight. Standard Registration through Friday January 14, 2011 at midnight. Online registration ends at midnight on January 14, 2011.

This is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to LEARN more of what is available for your SCOUTING PROGRAM and to NETWORK with fellow Scouters and potential contributors from outside Scouting.
Classes are available for leaders of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers. Subjects for NEW leaders as well as EXPERIENCED leaders are covered.

MDSC Gift and Wine Auction

Time is running out to sign up for the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council 2010 Harvest in the Vineyards Gift and Wine Auction! The deadline to RSVP is this Friday October 29th.
You will have the chance to bid on high end and rare bottles of wine, including selections from some of Napa Valley's prominent vintners. There are also unique experiences, many gift packages and even a trip to Hawaii!
Looking for that hard-to-find Christmas gift for someone? Find it at the Scout auction! Support the Scouts of the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council and have a great time doing it!

Marksmanship Day Wrap Up
It was a cold and foggy morning last Saturday, but Camp Herms was packed with excited Cub Scouts awaiting for the start of Marksmanship Day.
Our pack has 14 scouts attended the event. 3 in archery. 11 in BB-gun shooting.

After 4 hours of training and practices, the scouts learned a lot about safety and techniques in shooting. In the end, everyone did a great job and earned a patch, a belt loop, and a pin. Congratulations especially to Josh K and Brian L for their exceptional work and receiving a nice jacket as reward.

MDSC Family Camp – Halloween Fest
Date: Friday - Sunday, October 22-24, 2010
Location: Camp Lindblad, 17660 Kings Creek Road, Boulder Creek, CA (map)
Cost: $90 per person. $15 for sibling under 5. $25 late fee per person if registering after 10/16
Mt Diablo Silverado Council will be offering the last Family Camp of the year on Oct 22. Cub Scouts of all ranks, parents, and siblings are invited. Participation of this camp count towards requirements of Outdoor Activity Award, Year of Celebration Award, BSA Family Award, and a number of belt loops / pins and rank achievements / electives.
