I can hardly believe that the January pack meeting is next week already. To get in the spirit of the annual Pinewood derby race, we plan to host a "Down & Derby" movie night followed by a museum tour at the Blackhawk Auto Museum!
Please note that the Pack meeting is on SUNDAY Jan 10 at Blackhawk museum from 2-4:30pm.

2010 Blackhawk 500 Patch Design Contest
Deadline: Friday, February 19, 2010

Contest information from the council ...
Cub Scouts, send us your original design for the 2010 Blackhawk 500 Pinewood Derby Patch! One design will be selected and used as the official patch for the upcoming Blackhawk 500*. The designer of the chosen patch will also receive free entry into the Blackhawk 500!
Rules & Guidelines:
- All designs must be done on and fit within the 3” circle on the contest form.
- All designs must include the wording “2010 Blackhawk 500” and “Mt. Diablo Silverado Council”.
- Limit of 1 design per boy.
- All designs must be received by February 19, 2010.
When you’re all done, mail the form to:

The items can be reserved and checked out by calling Scott Evans.
The 2010 Race will be held in a new Aluminum Track on January 31. Inspection,Weigh in, Impound will be Saturday 30 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Cars must meet the PWD rules to compete.
Urge your Den Members to finish the car prior to Jan 30. They can use the scale at the post office to get as close as possible to the 5.0 Oz requirement.

Hello Pack 1776 Families,
Eka and I decided to cancel the hike this coming Sunday. We took this decision chiefly based on safety reasons.
The weather forecast predicts rain for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This hike is fairly difficult (compared to previous ones) and muddy conditions will make it even harder.

100th Anniversary Audiocast – Final Reminder

One final reminder about the audiocast rally this Thursday, December 10 at 5:00pm. Thanks to the ten-of-thousands who have signed-up already. We want this to be the largest virtual gathering in BSA history. We hope you will join us!

Wanted: Used Bikes
Adopt a Family Bikes is a local non profit run by St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. They need your help! Do you (or a friend or neighbor) have a used bike or trike you could donate? The volunteers will clean, repair, and safety check them before donating them to non profits such as Monument Crisis Center, Salvation Army, etc. Check out the website at www.adoptafamilybikes.org.
Bikes can be dropped off at the repair shop in the Rose Garden Center at 730 Camino Ramon, Suite 150, Danville. Approximate hours are 6-9 pm weeknights and 10-5 pm weekends. Bikes are needed before Dec. 7. A donation of $5-10 per bike is suggested to help pay for parts, helmets, and bike locks. Volunteers are always welcome, no experience necessary. You can also fulfill some of the requirements of the Cycling Merit Badge. Contact Rand Mahoney, 964-1641, [email protected].

By now, we hope you have heard about BSA's Dec. 10 100th Anniversary audiocast kick-off rally! These are exciting times! And, this will be our chance to get everyone pumped up and energized for the celebration. If you have already responded, thank you!
If you haven't had a chance to RSVP... want another reason to tune-in on Dec. 10th? During the audiocast the BSA will give away:
- Two tickets to Gala Twenty-Ten, a very special and elegant 100th Anniversary event in Washington, D.C. on February 9, 2010. One night's hotel stay is included.
- A signed, limited and special edition print of Joseph Csatari's 100th Anniversary painting.
- A specially packaged, limited edition U.S. Mint commemorative coin honoring BSA's 100 years.
