May 22: Bike Hike

Celebrate National Bike Month with a bike ride for our monthly hike.

Date/Time: Sunday, May 22, 2022, 9:30am
Location: Iron Horse Trail from Crow Canyon to Richard Fahey Village Green Park and back.
Distance: 4.6 miles one way; 9.2 miles total
Time: Allow 2-2.5hrs total
Meeting Point: PG&E lot at 3400 Crow Canyon Rd (North, where the dome is)

Attire: Class B uniform + approved face covering
What to bring: bike, helmet, outdoor essentials including plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen

The entire famliy on bikes welcome!
We will go over bike safety rules and do a quick helmet and bike inspection before we start. Absolutely no racing or horseplay permitted.

Trail (map): Starting at Crow Canyon Road, take the Iron Horse Trail going south, and head to Richard Fahey Village Green Park. We'll take a break at the park and have some snacks and water and get ready for the journey back.

Register for this year’s Meridian Cub Scout Day Camp and be prepared to explore the “The Universe Around Us.”  Camp is open to all boys and girls (Cub Scouts) entering the 1st – 5th Grade in Fall 2022. 

This is an in-person day camp where you’ll discover and learn things across the universe. Don’t miss out on an amazing fun filled week where Cub Scouts are expected to be able to play and participate in:

May 21: Advancement Fun Day

It's almost the end of the scouting year… Scouts and parents, you have worked so hard throughout the year. Let's celebrate and have fun!

[ Volunteer ] and meet your minimum parent volunteer hours to save your volunteer deposit check

Schedule:
1-2pm Advancement ceremony
2-4pm Field day fun & refreshments
4-4:30pm Site sweep — ALL SCOUTS

After the advancement ceremony, we'll have a field day with fun games and activities:

Photo booth (take-your-own-pics/selfies)
Giant bubble stations
Balloon Twister
Hula hoop ring toss
3-legged race
Pool noodle baseball
Car wash relay

The pack will also provide celebratory cupcakes, otter pops, and lemon water. Please bring a refillable reusable water bottle for each attendee, children and adults.

April 23: Spring Campout

Join us for a glorious afternoon and evening of scout skills and outdoor fun!  Come for the activities, a pack-provided dinner and our evening campfire program.  Staying overnight is optional.  

We have an action-packed agenda. This meeting is especially important for a handful of scouts and their parents who will participate in our Bobcat Ceremony – let’s celebrate with them!  

What to bring: 

Everyone should bring a refillable water bottle, mess kit, flashlight, folding chair, and sun protection. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking. Bring warm clothes as it may get cold after dark.

For those staying overnight, you must have your own tent and sleeping bag. Please refer to the Outdoor Essentials on what to pack.

April 24: Marksmanship Day

Calling all Tigers and Webelos!  Work towards earning the Cub Scout Shooting Award for your rank. Marksmanship Day is a District level event with BSA trained Rangemasters. Scouts from other pack(s) will also join the event. Priority in the pack will be given to Scouts who camp overnight on the 23rd.  

Bring:

  1. 2 copies (not 4) of the completed Shooting Sports permission slip, link
  2. Completed Event permission slip, link
  3. Parking pass, link
  4. Warm clothes & face-covering  CAMP HERMS IS ALWAYS COLD.  BRING JACKETS.
  5. Filled reusable water bottle
  6. Make-your-own sandwich lunch will be provided

Lunch & Registration:

Lunch will be provided by the pack for participants and families, specify how many in registration form.  Also, please specify choice of event (Archery or BB gun) and session times when registering. Sessions will be assigned after registration closes. While we'll do our best to accommodate preferences, it is not guaranteed.

Mom and Cub camp, May 13-15 or May 20-22.  Registration link
Moms and their Cub (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos).  Located in the beautiful coastal redwoods of Camp Royaneh. The staff will guide you through a weekend of fun and adventure especially designed to reinforce that mother-child bond. A great escape for Cub Scouts and their moms (or another adult female partner like grandmothers, aunts).

Come help celebrate the Bridging of our AOL Scouts, including our very first female scouts to cross over into Scouts BSA!  The Ceremony starts at 6pm sharp and will go until 7:30 p.m.  BUT WAIT!  Following the Ceremony will be awesome entertainment by Tracy the Animal Show Guy!

Important for in-person attendance

  • Eat dinner at home beforehand. No dinner will be served at this event due to COVID-19. Scouts will receive a cupcake and favor to take home at the end of the evening.
  • AOL Scouts eat at home beforehand. If necessary, they may eat their dinner from home in the courtyard up till 5:15pm at latest.
  • Only one parent accompanies Lion, Tiger, Wolf Scouts, unless both parents are on leadership or volunteer duty at the pack meeting.
  • Leave siblings at home, unless necessary. Of course, do not leave young kids alone at home.
  • Drop off Bear, Webelos Scouts by 5:55pm, unless you are on leadership or volunteer duty at the pack meeting, and come back at 8:45pm 8:15pm to pick them up promptly when the event ends at 8:30pm.
