This is a fun night time activity which our scouts love. This is a ranger led activity with the Livermore Parks and Recreation Department. No flashlights allowed. We only have 20 spots on this hike so please reply back ASAP to reserve your spot. Please note that spots will be reserved on a first come first serve basis by depositing the fees for this activity.
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR HOOT OWL HIKES
This is a ranger guided hike with the Livermore Parks and Recreation Department.
Wear sturdy shoes. You will be hiking on dirt trails that may be rocky and rough. We recommend bringing layers of clothing and, if appropriate, raingear.
Insect repellent is recommended. Drinking water is okay to bring.
DO NOT bring:
Flashlights
Flash cameras
Cell phones
Food
Pets
Walking sticks
No children under 5 years old
Please note that participation is limited to 20 people. To allow for max scout participation only 1 parent per scout may attend and no siblings are allowed.
Costs : $10 per participant. (adult + 1 scout would cost $20)

February Hike At Diablo Foothills Regional Park

Directions:
Exit I-680 at Livorna Road. Head east about three miles to the Livorna Staging area located just west of Stonegate Drive in Alamo.

Parking is limited so carpooling is highly encouraged.

Class B uniform.

The hike is about 3.2 miles loop up to the EBMUD water tank and back using the Foothill trail and the Alamo trail to return. Besides panoramic views of the mountain and its surroundings, Diablo Foothill's 1,060 acres contain interesting geologic features, beautiful wildflowers in season, and a variety of bird and animal life.

Dress for the weather.
Carry lots of water and light snacks.
