2018 Popcorn Show & Sell
Does your scout need to practice his public speaking, good manners, or accepting rejections gracefully? Selling popcorn is a great way to practice all these skills! This year we booked opportunities at different locations; try them all! Please sign up on SignUpGenius! Sales earned at the store, along with your individual sales to friends and neighbors, all count toward your scout's Trails End Prizes! In addition, every scout that sells $125 or more will receive a Survival Tool Prize! And - back by popular demand - the top two individual sellers will receive a bow and arrow or drone! The top selling Den will receive a Ice Cream Party! Furthermore, every scout that sells $125 or more will have their winter camping fee discounted (we are looking towards participating in an overnight at the Monterey Bay Aquarium).

Shawna will send you an email invitation to create a Square account and the instructions on how to set it up. Please also download the free Square app to your smart phone:

Be sure to read PACK 1776 Popcorn Sales Station Instructions (2018) If you’re the first or last shift, you must pick up or return the popcorn and cash box at Govind's home.
Alternatively, you can also:
1) Show and Deliver: go to Govind's home on Saturdays and Sundays between 9:00 am and 10:00 am and pick up popcorn. Sell as much as you can. Bring back the cash and remaining popcorn by October 14.
2) Take Order: take your popcorn order form (ask your Den Leader if you need one) and let your customers choose all the flavors; collect the advance payment. Bring your form and payment to Govind. Popcorn will be available for you to pick up and distribute in mid-November.
3) Online: Set up an account at trails-end.com and sell online.
When selling door to door, please follow these safety rules:
- Never enter someone’s home.
- Don’t carry large amounts of cash with you.
- Always walk on the sidewalk and driveway.
- Always sell with another scout or adult.
Remember to wear your Class A uniform, be respectful and have fun!

How to Register with Pack 1776
To guide you on completing your application, please visit our website at https://pack1776.com/join.
1. Complete the online Pack 1776 Registration Form
2. Complete the Medical Form Parts A & B
3. Make a copy of the front & back of your scout’s medical insurance card.
4. Provide the scout registration fee for your year via a check made out to Pack 1776:
$150 per Tiger, Wolf, Bear or Webelos scout (First through Fifth grades in 2018-2019).
$75 per new Lion scouts (those who will be in Kindergarten in 2018-2019)
5. Provide a separate $200 parent volunteer deposit - 1 per family (check postdated to 4/1/2019, also made out to Pack 1776).
Volunteer deposit waived for new Lion scouts.
6. Complete the online BSA Youth Application Form for new scouts only. Drop off the checks, medical forms and copy of your child’s medical card to the Scout Box located inside the Coyote Creek Elementary School Office. If you have questions, feel free to email us at [email protected].
9/11 Remembrance Flag Ceremony
Pack 1776 Families,
Pack 1776 will participate in the opening flag ceremony for Coyote Creek's 9/11 Memorial to be held at 8:35 am on Tuesday, September 11th.
Scouts who want to participate must arrive at the Sundial area behind the office at 8:00am in your full Class A uniform.

Date and Time: Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm (Setup begins at 5:00 pm.)

Cost: Free admission. Nominal fee for concessions.
Attire: Costumes!!
Signup: Just show up and have fun! No sign up is needed. The entire scouting family is welcome!
Beware of ghosts and goblins! Come for an evening of games, fun, and mayhem! Participate in our Cub Scout Carnival! Jump in the large jumpy house and play carnival games to win prizes. Come dressed up in your Halloween best and get your picture taken at the photo booth. You may even win one of our costume medals at the parade; you do not need to be a scout to win. A small slice of pizza and a bottle of water, or two bottles of water, will be available for $1.00 in the food booth.

Directions: Exit I-680 in San Ramon at Bollinger Canyon Road and go west to San Ramon Valley Boulevard. Turn left (south) on San Ramon Valley Boulevard and drive to Morgan Drive. Turn right (west) on Morgan Drive and go a short distance. Park on Morgan Drive and the trail-head is on the left.

Trail: Let's explore areas in our community where we can go for a short hike. The Bishop Ranch Regional Open Space Preserve offers quiet and solitude on 444 acres just a short distance from San Ramon Valley subdivisions. Watch for animals such as deer, red-tailed hawks, and turkey vultures.

Meeting Point: Parking lot at the end of Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon, CA
Attire: Class B

Directions: From Highway 680: Take the Crow Canyon Road exit. Drive west on Crow Canyon for about 1 mile, then turn right (north) onto Bollinger Canyon Road. Continue about 4.5 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road. Alternatively, drive west on Bollinger until it ends at the park. It is about 10 miles from school on Bollinger Canyon Road. Meet at the parking lot at the end of the road inside the park.
Trail: Bollinger Creek Loop trail. It is a very nice nearly flat 1.2 Mile trail. It should take less than 1 hour to complete. Is is an easy hike for our younger scouts.

Overview:
Las Trampas (Spanish for the traps) has two distinct areas, each with its own personality. Rocky Ridge, on the west side of the valley, is known for views in all directions, unusual rocks and green rolling hills lightly forested with California bays, oaks and maples. The wildflower display on the hills just off the ridgeline is an east bay favorite. The Las Trampas Ridge, to the east, is quite different, featuring a plant community dominated by chamise with other chaparral plants such as manzanitas and coyote brush.
