Memorial Day Flag Planting

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (will start promptly at 9:00 a.m.)
Location: San Francisco National Cemetery, 1 Lincoln Blvd, SF, CA
Attire: Full Class A, footwear suitable for walking in wet grass

Pack 1776 families,

Again this year, we will join hundreds of Scouts from all over the Bay Area, and thousands across the country, to pay tribute to those who served. We will be planting American flags at the San Francisco National Cemetery. This is typically one of the most meaningful events of the year, given the importance of the holiday and direct involvement the scouts will have in honoring our nation's fallen heroes. The ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00am and we will likely be completed with the flag planting by 11:30am.

Scouts, friends, and family welcome.

Scouts and leaders must be in full Class A Uniforms.

59th Annual Gem and Mineral Show

Date: April 12 & 13, 2014
Time: 10am - 5pm
Location: Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose
Show admission: Free for children under 12 and scouts in uniform. Adult $5 advance purchase or $6 at the door.
Kids area admission: $3 per scout, free for adults.
Awards: All Cub Scouts will have the opportunity to earn their Geology Belt Loop and Geology Academic Pin. Webelos will have an additional opportunity to earn their Geologist Pin.

Cub scouts are invited to Visit the Santa Clara Valley Gem and Mineral Society show and Kids Area at the Fairgrounds on April 12 and 13. Learn about geology, get a beginning rock collection, a rock bag, and a show patch. Choose a day and time slot to visit and send in your sign up form and check by March 17th.

2014 Derby Days

The 2014 Dremel Pinewood Derby Days Program, brought to you through Lowe’s, is a source for all materials and know-how you need to create a winning Pinewood Derby car you can be proud of – regardless of your skill level. Select Lowe’s stores will host Pinewood Derby® car clinics where experts share their tips and tricks for making the fastest cars on race day. Everyone who attends an event will be given a:

  • How-to demonstration
  • BSA-approved badge
  • 10% off Dremel coupon, which can be applied to your entire Dremel purchase.

Monster Jam

Monster Jam is coming back to Oakland with the BIGGEST line up and most monster trucks than ever before!!  Shows consist of three main fan-favorite elements – the pit party, side-by-side racing and freestyle competition. Fan-favorite truck icons will be heading to the Bay, electrifying crowds with the breathtaking stunts and awesome power of the world’s most popular monster trucks.

Pit Party:
Scout orders (of any size) qualify for discounted pit party passes!!!  Weather permitting, the Pit Party will take place from 3:00 pm to 5:45 pm.  This fabulous event provides fans with the opportunity to meet select riders, take photographs, obtain autographs, and see Monster Trucks up close and personal!

Pinewood Derby:
Scouts are invited to bring their Pinewood Derby cars and informally race against one another inside the Pit Party (located outside the Coliseum in Parking Lot B).  This activity is OPTIONAL and JUST FOR FUN!  Races will NOT be officially timed nor will there be any judging or organized competition related to racing, design, etc.  To participate, indicate the number of cars your group plans on bringing to the event using the ticket order form.

Disney on Ice

Scout Night: Warriors vs Boston Celtics

Calling all Scouts! Join the Golden State Warriors in celebrating Scout Night on Friday, January 10th at 7:30pm at the Oracle Arena as they take on the Boston Celtics! The game is sure to be an absolute barnburner between two fantastic basketball units. The Celtics will be hoping that point guard Isaiah Thomas can lead them to a huge W, while the hosting Warriors will be relying on Andre Iguodala and star player Steph Curry to lead them to glory. 2013 Scout-O Championship – Registration is Closed

Date/Time: Sunday, October 13
Location: Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley
Cost: $7 per scout (adults also $7 if participating), make the check payable to BAOC
Attire: Class B t-shirt, strong trail shoes, long pants
